It is the core practice of my life. And it does not mean never stretching yourself or holding yourself accountable. Doing it for the love of nature involves effort, discipline, and discomfort. There are early mornings, tired legs, and moments of wanting to stop. Yet the action is rooted in love if you are doing it for the joy of being there, not from the fear of missing out or the need to prove something.<p style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">So acting from love does not always mean doing what you feel like in the moment. Sometimes it involves doing something you do not feel like doing, but have consciously chosen for the love of it. Feelings fluctuate. But here, fear is not just a feeling. The presence of fear as a feeling does not automatically mean the action is rooted in fear. But since I started letting go of that fear, I no longer feel the same motivation or discipline. How do I know if I am being lazy?”<p style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">When fear falls away, actions that were powered by fear often fall away with it. Inaction is not always laziness. Maybe you want more energy to play with your child. Maybe you want the stamina to travel, or to do a trek you have always dreamed of.<p style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">When the “why” comes from love, structure and discipline can follow naturally. So when we talk about letting go of fear, it can feel like motivation and discipline must also be let go of. But that is not true.<p style="font-style: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration: none; caret-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">When fear falls away, a different kind of motivation becomes available. Love-based motivation is quieter than fear. It is not as urgent or forceful.
